At DEAN Adventure Camps, we’re dedicated to helping children discover their passions, explore endless possibilities, achieve meaningful goals, and navigate thrilling adventures. Our programs are organized into 10 different studios that balance skill-building, character development, and unforgettable fun, with friendship and personal growth at the heart of every experience. Guided by our experienced and caring counselors, we nurture great qualities like resilience, focus, integrity, perseverance, and gratitude, empowering your child to make smart choices, try new things, and thrive—all while having the time of their lives.

For Summer 2025, art takes many forms in our Mixed Media Studio, where young artists can choose from two camp programs: Fiber Arts and SFX Makeup Magic. Here they'll develop creativity exploring diverse materials and techniques while building curiosity discovering new ways to express themselves. From embroidery to theatrical makeup, makers strengthen resilience through the natural cycle of trial, error, and improvement that every artist faces.

Working with a variety of materials, campers practice self-regulation focusing on detailed crafting while developing responsibility handling tools with care. Side-by-side with fellow artists, they build collaboration skills as they share techniques and inspiration. Every week brings new artistic adventures and opportunities for self-expression.

SFX Makeup Magic- Junior (Grades 2-4)

From glam to grandma, and everything in between, SFX Makeup Magic is where makeup meets transformation! This exciting, creative camp lets campers dive into the art of illusion, blending creativity with technique.

Throughout the week, campers will mix custom colors with oil-based palettes, craft prosthetics, and master visual tricks like old-age makeup and mind-bending optical illusions. Whether they’re designing characters to spook or charm, the possibilities for transformation are endless.

As they work, campers build focus while perfecting their techniques, resilience as they push through challenges, and openness as they explore new and bold ideas. By the end of the week, don’t be surprised to see some wild, one-of-a-kind creations!

SFX Makeup Magic- Senior (Grades 5-8)

Fiber Arts- Junior (Grades 1-4)

Knitting fun into every creation! In Fiber Arts, campers will explore the magic of yarn, fabric, and threads. Within just a week, they’ll craft unique creations perfect as gifts, cherished keepsakes, or functional pieces.

We’ll cover a spectrum of techniques, from loom-knitting and felting to embroidery and weaving. Campers can return week after week or year after year to discover new themes and projects while building their fiber arts expertise.

As they create, campers also cultivate focus as they work on detailed, hands-on work, perseverance while mastering intricate techniques, and make friends as they share their handmade treasures with others.
