The Robotics, Coding & Creativity Studio uses an art-based multidimensional approach to develop a solid foundation for learning STEAM concepts. Engaging the left and right sides of the brain, these programs help campers become critical thinkers and creative problem-solvers as they engage with art, coding, building, and robotics. Each week, campers will investigate the program's theme, develop artistic and creative skills, and learn to code with an Ozobot in our Junior and Senior programs, and build robots in our Builder programs.

Robotics, Coding & Creativity Builders JR, (Grades K-2)

Campers build their own robots, learning mechanical concepts and building skills. Includes the following programs:

  • Digital Dinos

  • Minecraft Blocksmith

  • Super Heroes to the Rescue

Robotics, Coding & Creativity Sr. (Grades 3-4)

Campers utilize Ozobots and tablets to mesh Blockly coding to command their Ozobots. Includes the following programs:

  • Cyborg Creations

  • Robot Rumble

  • Mechanical Creatures

General Daily Schedule for all Robotics, Coding & Creativity Programs:

  • Morning introduction

  • Activity period—approximately 1 hour

  • Snack and stretch break—approximately 15 minutes, outside, weather permitting

  • Activity period—approximately 1 hour

  • Lunch and recess break—approximately 1 hour, outside, weather permitting

Themes + Skills Overview

Digital Dinos (Grades K-2)

A camp 45 million years in the making! Campers, along with their Ozobots, roar their way into some colossal fun as they dive deep into the Jurassic era to learn about their favorite mega animals and their habitats. Throughout the week, campers and Ozobots don their paleontologist hats and solve dino-themed challenges using their thinking and color-coding skills.

Campers will join together for a week of fossil-infused fun, we just hope we don’t run into any hungry Jurassic creatures along the way!

Minecraft Blocksmith (Grades K-2)

Calling all Red Stone Engineers! This is your chance to get your hands on a Minecraft world. In this weeklong program, campers learn coding concepts while diving imagination first into the world of Minecraft. Campers use Blockly to code their Ozobot to maneuver through a physical Minecraft biome that they construct themselves.

Creative mode is on in this real-world rendition of Minecraft. Note: We do not play Minecraft in this program, but campers can pull from their past gaming experience to inspire their physical creations!

Super Heroes to the Rescue (Grades K-2)

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s an Ozobot! In this weeklong dash to save the world, campers apply robotics and coding concepts to turn their color-coding-powered Ozobot into the hero we need! Each day, the Ozobot hero comes face to face with an arch-nemesis. It's up to the campers to create a hero persona and a coded routine to help their Ozobot escape the diabolical traps set forth by the villains. Throughout this program, campers learn Ozobot's hands-on Color Coding language and flex their creative powers as they build and design environments where our hero saves the day.

At the end of the week, campers show off their most innovative routines and scare the villains back to the holes, caves, or planets from whence they came!

Cyborg Creations (Grades 3-4)

Human meets machine in the world of Cyborg Creation!

This isn't just another robot camp. We're entwining human anatomy and cutting-edge machinery concepts in this exciting new program!

Imagine crafting a mechanical arm that mirrors human gestures or building a wearable exoskeleton! Well, imagine no more! Participants will undertake projects that blend anatomy with electronics, resulting in interactive cyborg components, such as constructing robotic appendages and augmentations.

Each of these personalized projects serves as a testament to the camp's adherence to the Next Generation Science Standards principles and our commitment to fostering inventive, boundary-pushing thought. Every camper will create tangible, responsive augmentations they can proudly take home.

Cyborg Creations melds imagination and the marvels of the human body with the frontiers of technology!

Skills Learned in Cyborg Creations

Knowledge gained in robotics and mechanical concepts. Techniques such as 3D paper and cardboard construction building, robot construction, embellishing techniques, and drawing. Fine motor skills include proper scissor usage, cutting, bending and folding paper and cardboard, and sketching. Design processes include sketching and rendering 3D and 2D concepts, experimenting, problem-solving and troubleshooting.

Robot Rumble (Grades 3-4)

Robot Rumble is the ultimate robotic takedown challenge, tailored for those who possess a passion for robotics and competition (friendly, of course!).

This program is not just about understanding mechanics—it's about constructing the ultimate robot ready to face any challenge in the arena. Campers design, assemble, and fine-tune their own bot to create the ultimate machine. Once assembled, bots face-off in arenas that are also built by our innovative campers.

Skills Learned in Robot Rumble

Our Robotics, Coding & Creativity Studio offers a balanced approach to STEAM learning. By blending art with technical skills, campers will enhance both critical thinking and creativity. Each week focuses on a specific theme, teaching campers artistry, and coding with Ozobot in our Jr. and Sr. programs or robot construction in our Builder programs. Join us for a comprehensive learning experience.
