Positions for Individuals Age 16+

We are looking for flexible, motivated, and energetic individuals to join our team as Camp Counselors in a fun and exciting camp environment!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers/coaches with managing campers in a dynamic and enriching setting.

  • Actively engage with campers throughout the day, ensuring a hands-on and enjoyable experience.

  • Foster group bonding and create memorable experiences for all campers.

  • Build positive and caring relationships among campers and staff.

  • Support daily activities and promote a safe, inclusive camp environment.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in working with children and assisting with camp activities.

  • Experience in camps, schools, or similar settings is preferred but not required.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Enthusiasm for creating a fun and supportive environment for campers.

  • Basketball Counselor - Assist coaches with drills, games, and camper supervision in a fun, active environment. Experience with basketball is required.

    1-week position, must be available: June 16– 20 & June 30 - July 3 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Discovery Day Camp Counselor - Assist campers with activities like arts, sports, and games in a fun, active environment. Ideal candidates are comfortable engaging with and being hands-on with elementary-aged campers.

    6-week position, must be available for all 6-weeks: June 23– August 1 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Discovery Junior Day Camp Counselor - Assist campers with activities like arts, sports, and games in a fun, active environment. Ideal candidates are comfortable engaging with and being hands-on with young, nursery-kindergarten aged, campers.

    6-week position, must be available for all 6-weeks: June 23– August 1 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Extended Day Counselor - Support campers with activities like arts, sports, and games in a fun, active environment. Must be comfortable engaging with and being hands-on with early childhood and elementary-aged campers.

    9-week position, must be available for at least 6-weeks: June 9– August 8 - 2:15 PM – 5:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Office Admin and Operations – Seeking individuals to support the logistics of Sidwell Summer programs, including office tasks, carpool, communication with campers and families, and other operational needs. Must be 18+ and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic group office environment.

    9-week position, must be available for at least 8-weeks: June 9– August 8 - 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday- Friday

  • S’More Fun Counselor - Assist campers with activities like arts, sports, and games in a lively, weekly-themed, camp environment. Must be comfortable engaging with and being hands-on with elementary-aged campers.

    9-week position, must be available for at least 6-weeks: June 9– August 8 - 11:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Soccer Counselor - Assist coaches with all aspects of Soccer Camp, including camper supervision, drills, games, and carpool support. Soccer experience is required.

    9-week position, must be available for at least 6-weeks: June 9– August 8 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Summer Studies Counselor - Support lead teachers in academic or enrichment classrooms, working hands-on with middle and high school campers. Must be 18+ and comfortable engaging in a classroom setting.

    Dates & Times Vary - between June 16 - August 1 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Tennis Counselor - Assist coaches with all aspects of Tennis Camp, including camper supervision, drills, games, and carpool support. Tennis experience is required.

    9-week position, must be available for at least 6-weeks: June 9– August 8 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

Positions for Individuals Ages 21+:

We are seeking flexible, motivated, and energetic individuals to join our team as Teachers/Coaches in a dynamic and enriching camp environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a group of campers through daily activities in a fun, active setting.

  • Engage with campers throughout the day, fostering a positive and hands-on experience.

  • Create an exciting and enriching camp atmosphere that promotes learning and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in a camp, school, or similar setting is required.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences for campers.

  • Discovery Day Camp Teacher - Lead and supervise a group of campers while teaching workshops in areas like arts, science, cooking, acting, music, and sports. Responsibilities include camper supervision, teaching activities, carpool assistance, and overseeing counselors. Must be comfortable engaging and working hands-on with elementary-aged campers.

    6-week position, must be available for the full 6-weeks: June 23– August 1 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Discovery Junior Day Camp Teacher - AM Only - Lead and supervise young campers (ages 3 & 4) through various activities in a nurturing and fun day camp setting. Responsibilities include camper supervision, carpool assistance, and counselor oversight. Must be comfortable engaging and working hands-on with early childhood-aged campers.

    6-week position, must be available for the full 6-weeks: June 23– August 1 - 8:30 AM – 12:15 PM, Monday- Friday

  • Discovery Junior Day Camp Teacher - Lead and supervise young campers (Pre-K/Kindergarten) through fun and engaging activities in a nurturing day camp setting. Responsibilities include camper supervision, carpool assistance, and counselor oversight. Must be comfortable working hands-on with early childhood-aged campers.

    6-week position, must be available for the full 6-weeks: June 23– August 1 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

    8-week position, must be available at least 6-weeks: June 10– August 9 - 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday- Friday

*Nurse – Oversee medical care for 300+ campers per week, including medication administration, basic first aid, and record keeping. Requires a current DC Nursing license, CPR/First Aid certification, and strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with children preferred.
